Result(s): Villarreal 2:0 Racing, Nastic 2:1 Villarreal B
Posted by sidarth in Match Thread, Results, Villarreal B, VillarrealUSA PenyaBoth games start at 11 am Eastern Time. I tentatively see streams for both games on Rojadirecta. Once I get in from shoveling the 2 feet of snow we have outside, I’ll be back with a liveblog. And remember to look for the VillarrealUSA Penya behind the right-end goal at El Madrigal. Endavant Villarreal(s)!

The team news is that Venta, Pires and Llorente return.
The full line up for this afternoon will be as follows:
Diego López
Javi Venta, Godín, Marcano, Capdevila;
Cani,Senna, Bruno, Pires;
Llorente, Rossi.
10′ Still 0-0
23′ The majority of our attacks are going down the left hand side, Pires, Rossi and Capdevila are all very prominent so far
31′ Tchite misses a great chance for Racing after a good cross from Serrano. Should have scored!
Right side of Midfield is DOING NADA.
(HELLO … Calling Valverde Favorite Cani !!)
Need Escudero or Cazorla in their for Senor Cani…
+ Senna is either giving up the ball ..or shooting weak shots…
Half Time 0-0
Possession has been 65-35 in our favour. Tells it’s own story but we haven’t created much. You can say that the right side is doing nothing but they are not getting the ball. Bruno picks up the ball deep and spreads left to the ever available Capdevila. Rossi does the same when he drops back. I agree on the Senna point though, has had no real influence.
50′ Gooool Llorente! Which I missed. I always miss goals!
Ah saw the replay, it was a tap in after a cut back from Javi Venta!
60′ Cazorla replaces Pires
70′ Rossi heads just wide after a great cross from Capdevila
72′ Gooooool Rossi! Great half volley inside the box after a good ball by Cani 2-0
Fuster then replaces him!
77′ Nilmar replaces Llorente who had a good solid game.
Shots : 16 – 1
Shots on target : 8-0
A performance of complete dominance, ten minutes to go
Strange subs……Instead of going for 3-0 …I guess Valverde wanted to see
Fuster & Nilmar get some time…
Senna had a so-so game….. Crap in first half ,,, o,.k in 2nd… Bit slow today
And the B team is back in the match. 2-1 Nastic in the 85th minute. Gol de Ruben from a penalty; Mario was fouled in the box.
Cani finally did better in 2nd half…
FT : Another 3 points, good performance! The resurgence continues! Or I could use a pun, the resurfacing continues! At the moment we’re in 9th place.
Full-time results:
Villarreal 2:0 Racing
Nastic 2:1 Villarreal B
Workmanlike win by the A team; good fightback from the B team but not quite enough. Happy holidays everyone! We’ll have some year-in-review content going up in the week ahead, along with pictures from maddi’s visit to Vila-real (hint, hint).
The teams finish 2009:
Villarreal A- 6 wins, 3 draws, 6 losses. 9th place, 21 points in 15 matches. 24 goals for, 19 goals against.
Villarreal B- 6 wins, 5 draws, 6 losses. 11th place, 23 points in 17 matches. 21 goals for, 24 goals against.
Pretty impressive, don’t you think? Striking how similar the stats are…

For people wondering how we balance the books:
In 2008-09, Villarreal had a budget of 110 million Euros and made 96,434 Euros in profit. In 2009-10, Villarreal’s budget will be reduced by 30 million (or 27%) to a total of 80 million Euros. Expected profits are 31,000 Euros. 78.75% of board members approved of the 2009-10 budget.
So that means Villarreal will sale players ….in Jan & June
and promot players from Villarreal B… No More buying/
I hear Jony is being sold/loaned to Betis
Any profits good in professional football and in Spain it is exceptional. Hopefully we won’t sell too many players but we have bought quite a large number of young players over the past two years so they can hopefully step up.
