Villarreal B are taking on the league leaders in Segunda A, Real Sociedad. Packed Mini Estadi for this one, 0-0 after 20′. Sociedad had a goal disallowed for offsides.
32′, still 0-0. You can follow the match here:

Both sides have had chances, and the crowd is definitely helping our team.
0-0 at halftime. A point would pull us 5 away from the drop zone, as it stands right now.
Barca shouldn’t have traded my boy eto’o… best w11 player ever
Roig and Valverde on hand for the match. I assume that a few B team players will feature against Celta in the Copa del Rey, whether in the first or second leg.
54′ Musacchio sent off for his second yellow card. Villarreal B down to 10 men for the rest of the match.
Real Sociedad scored the 0-1 goal in 75′, as we left a man unmarked on the back post. You thought our boys might drop their heads, a man down against the league leaders? Then you haven’t been watching them this season, obviously. 2 minutes later in 77′, Marco Ruben knotted the scores with his 9th goal of the season. Another great fightback.
3 minutes left of stoppage time, 1-1.
Fulltime, 1-1. Montero got a Sociedad player sent off in stoppage time, so both teams ended the match with 10 men. Impressive point, and Villarreal B now has gotten a result against all 3 teams currently in the promotion spots (win vs. Hercules, draws vs. Sociedad and @Cartagena). 4th-place Numancia comes to town in 2 weeks, so let’s see if that streak continues.
Also, the goal by Ruben is a must-see. Great cross from Montero, but Ruben had everything left to do. It was a magical near post, side-footed finish.
thanks for the commentary, sidarth. I’ve been following at MARCA, pleased with this draw.
Another great result. Good to see Ruben getting back on the scoresheet.
